SWITCHTENSE [►]

SWITCHTENSE were formerly formed in 2002 by Hugo Andrade and Rui Caria, and later with other two elements, after their bands ended. Until 2004 two demo-cds were registered, which allowed Switchtense to perform alive for the first time.

In 2005 Nuno Pardal takes place in the band as a guitar player and by that time started the composing/recording of the debut EP Brainwash Show. This EP was recorded and produced on the band own studio but later edited in an independent format…this characterizes the DIY (do it yourself) strong spirit within the band. This attitude leads to a large number of concerts throughout Portugal promoting the name SWITCHTENSE and the debut EP.

Reviews are very constructive and all the experience acquired on the stage gets the band to a bigger, either technical or composing evolution.

At the end of 2006, SWITCHTENSE count on 2 guitar players after Neto joined the band, and during that year and all 2007 the concerts still went on, which spread the name of the band all over the country.

The band performs in several places as bars and clubs, and starts to play in some festivals such as SWR Barroselas, Metal Gdl , together with names like Dew-Scented, Napalm Death, Textures, Caliban and so on.

2007 marks the year with the gathering of a new drummer, Xines. From that moment on, the band had the best formation ever, the until today, allowing their music to develop even more.

In 2008, with an advanced level on the debut album's making of, SWT enter UltraSound Studios in Braga to record with producer Daniel Cardoso. From this partnership, CONFRONTATION OF SOULS comes out to the market as a very auspicious album taking the band to the highest level on the national metal. The album comes at February 2009 under the label of Portuguese Rastilho Records. The reviews are unanimous and this album is cheered as one of the best editions of the year.

CONFRONTATION OF SOULS takes SWITCHTENSE to a larger number of people and to a wider concert agenda. The "Confrontour" promotion Tour leads the band to concerts during 2009 and part of 2010, playing side-by-side with Soulfly, Devildriver, Hatesphere, Dew-Scented and in festivals like Ilha do Ermal and Metal Gdl.

2009 is also the year where the band tours abroad to Germany and Holland. This album gets positive reviews and also high scores on several European publications.

After the second half of 2010, SWITCHTENSE start to prepare the second album, named after the band. This album was recorded during the months of February and March 2011 at the UltraSound Studios produced by the band with the signature of mastering and mixing of Daniel Cardoso.

The album comes out on May 2011 labeled by Rastilho Records. Several promotion dates are already agended and more will follow.

SWITCHTENSE is a strong album with the power the audience is already used to. This is an album to definitely mark the name of SWITCHTENSE on the metal scene.
